Applus+, through the specialized Enertis Applus+ team, is participating in the development of a new solar photovoltaic energy generation project in the Atlántico Department, Colombia, with an estimated nominal capacity of 50 MW. This project, which involves the installation of thousands of solar modules and their connection to the electrical grid via a substation, is part of efforts to strengthen the country’s energy transition through clean and sustainable sources.
As part of the project’s technical team, Applus+ has been contracted to provide owner's engineering services, supporting the client from the initial phases through the supervision of the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contract execution.
Applus+ role within the contract includes:
This comprehensive approach allows Applus+ to ensure that the project is developed according to best engineering practices and quality control, supporting the client at every key stage of development, execution, and final delivery.
Advancing solar photovoltaic energy for the future of the Atlántico region
This photovoltaic project will make a significant contribution to renewable energy generation in the Caribbean region, reducing dependence on fossil fuels and cutting greenhouse gas emissions. It will also create local jobs during construction and operation. Work is expected to be completed by the end of 2025.
Through this participation, Applus+ reaffirms its commitment to the sustainable development of the energy sector in Colombia and Latin America, providing technical expertise, operational independence, and a strategic vision for projects with high environmental and social impact.
