    • Enertis Applus+ will provide support for EGE Haina’s project during the preconstruction, construction, and commissioning phases.
    • During the construction phase, Enertis Applus+ will provide EGE Haina with a team of highly qualified supervisors who will work in collaboration with the back-office team to ensure a smooth execution and coordination of the project.

Global consulting, engineering, and quality control firm Enertis Applus+, with deep expertise in renewable energy and storage, has been appointed as owner’s engineer for the Empresa Generadora de Electricidad Haina (EGE Haina)’s Sajoma Solar Park, an 80 MW PV plant located in the Dominican Republic.

EGE Haina is a public-private Dominican company that operates as an electricity producer, leader in the Antilles in non-conventional renewable energy. The company is developing a new solar project, which will occupy 140 hectares in the municipality of San José de las Matas, in the province of Santiago. It consists of 123,100 bifacial solar modules and it will produce 148,000 MWh of clean energy annually, enough to supply the demand of 60,000 households each year.

As part of the services to be provided during the preconstruction phase, Enertis Applus+ will complete the review of the detailed engineering prepared by the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) company. This service aims at verifying that the design and construction drawings, as well as equipment specifications, comply with the required technical codes and regulations and with the requirements of the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) and the EPC contract.

During the construction phase, which will last approximately twelve months, Enertis Applus+ will supervise the EPC contractor’s on-site activities, ensuring compliance with the technical specifications, quality, and schedule of the project.

Moreover, Enertis Applus+ will provide EGE Haina with a multidisciplinary team of highly qualified supervisors and engineers who will work in collaboration with a specialised back-office team to ensure a smooth execution and coordination of the project.

Also, during this phase, IR drone inspections and I-V curve tests will be carried out to assess the health of installed PV modules.

“We continue to advance in the provision of our engineering services in the Dominican Republic, a country with a high potential to increase the deployment of solar PV projects, providing our clients with comprehensive owner’s engineering services that are key for the success of their projects. We would like to thank EGE Haina for the trust they have placed in the Enertis Applus+ team to guarantee the correct development of the Sajoma project”, explained Álvaro Velasco, Regional Manager for the northern LATAM region at Enertis Applus+.
