Applus+ has carried out the main inspection of three metallic structure suspension bridges for pedestrian use under the responsibility of the Ministry of the Environment, Territory and Housing of the Xunta de Galicia (Regional Government of Galicia) in the municipality of Pontevedra.
The main inspection included a visual examination of all the elements that make up the walkway to analyze its structural integrity, an especially relevant action due to the age of these walkways, and which would allow detection of the existence of pathologies that required a special inspection or of an additional repair project. In addition, this contract included carrying out an inventory that would record what was observed in order to be able to review it again in the routine and main inspections that must be carried out with a frequency of at least 5 years, or after carrying out any significant intervention in the structure.
