Applus+ participates in the modernization project of the movable bridge at the Port of Leixões, an essential civil infrastructure for mobility and port activity in Portugal.

Our team is responsible for construction supervision, health and safety coordination during the construction phase, and the implementation of the Inspection and Testing Plan, ensuring that every stage of the intervention is carried out in accordance with the highest standards of quality, safety, and reliability.

The Port Authority of Douro, Leixões and Viana do Castelo (APDL) promoted this initiative with the aim of improving and providing anticorrosive protection to the movable bridge, extending its service life and enhancing user safety. The intervention will help preserve an iconic element of access to the port and ensure its functionality in response to the operational needs of the coming years, strengthening its role as a link with the community.

Within the scope of this project, Applus+ carries out continuous technical supervision that facilitates coordination among all the entities involved and ensures strict compliance with the project, technical specifications, and applicable regulations. Likewise, our team oversees the correct implementation of health and safety conditions on site and applies systematic quality control through the Inspection and Testing Plan, guaranteeing the reliability of each execution stage.

With this intervention, Applus+ reaffirms its commitment to technical excellence and the improvement of critical infrastructures, contributing to the sustainability, modernization, and safety of the Port of Leixões and strengthening its presence in high-impact strategic projects in Portugal.
