Applus+ in China has been awarded a key inspection contract for Petrobras’ FPSO Projects P-84 and P-85

Marine FPSOs are essential infrastructure for remote offshore operations, enabling hydrocarbon processing, storage, and offloading in deepwater environments. Rigorous inspection at every stage of development is crucial to the long-term safety, reliability, and efficiency of these complex assets.

Field and factory inspection services across Asia

As part of our engagement, Applus+ will provide both field inspection services and factory inspection services, covering:

• Field inspection services: Technical supervision, compliance audits, and quality inspections at fabrication yards and construction sites, ensuring structural, mechanical, and process systems meet project requirements.
• Factory inspection services: Independent inspection, test witnessing, and quality verification of critical equipment and components at vendor workshops and OEM facilities.
   

The P-84 and P-85 FPSOs will significantly expand Petrobras’ deepwater production capabilities. Fabrication and integration activities are being executed across Asia—including key yards and vendor facilities in China, Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia. Applus+ team in China will play a central role in ensuring quality and compliance across these multi-country supply chains.

Proven expertise in offshore mega-projects

This latest award highlights the confidence that major operators and EPCs continue to place in Applus+ to deliver technically robust, schedule-aligned inspection solutions.
