Applus+ is working with the Saudi Ministry of Transportation & Logistics to achieve a dramatic change in the management of road maintenance contractors across the Kingdom. Applus+ has implemented a performance-based contract management system designed to bring about a tangible improvement in the quality of Saudi Arabia's vast road system.
Applus+ has deployed over 350 managers, inspectors and road management experts to oversee and evaluate every aspect of contractor activity, with performance measures being analysed and presented in real time on a dedicated software platform.
This initiative represents a major shift in the culture of the maintenance contracting sector, which Applus+ is making possible through a series of training events, reinforced by regular monitoring, evaluation and feedback. The implementation of the project is guided and strengthened by over 20 years' experience of in providing services to major public sector organizations in Saudi Arabia, and by the company's global experience in the supervision of civil infrastructure projects. One of the main challenges of this project is the change in the culture of road maintenance contractors.
