The Energy & Industry division of Applus+ was established in 2016 through the integration of the Applus+ RTD, Applus+ Norcontrol, and Applus+ Velosi brands. All had extensive international experience and a strong market presence. The purpose was to create a more global, efficient, and coordinated organization capable of delivering broader and more specialized services to clients across the energy, industrial, and infrastructure sectors.

These brands provided complementary geographic coverage and expertise, enabling the group to expand its global reach and strengthen its capabilities to participate in major international projects.

The creation of a single division also simplified the organization, improved coordination between teams, and encouraged collaboration while reducing duplication between brands. It enabled the consolidation of knowledge, technologies, and expertise, broadened the service portfolio, and built a shared corporate culture operating under a single global brand: Applus+
