Enertis Applus+ provides solar quality control services for ACCIONA Energia’s Aldoga PV plant in Australia

18/03/2024

Enertis Applus+ is carrying out comprehensive solar quality assurance and quality control services on the bifacial photovoltaic modules of the 480 MWp Aldoga solar PV project, located in Queensland and currently under construction.

We assist ACCIONA Energia with specialised and independent technical advice services throughout multiple phases, including pre-manufacturing, manufacturing and pre-shipment stages, totalling more than five months of activities.

As part of the services that are being performed, the company’s experienced solar quality inspectors, accredited ISO/IEC 17020, are carrying out factory audits in China to validate the raw materials for solar PV modules and to assess the compliance of the manufacturing process with the established quality standards.

Enertis Applus+ is also performing additional PV module testing in its accredited external laboratory (ISO/IEC 17025 and CBTL/IECEE) to evaluate the quality and optimal performance of these key components. These include the determination of the maximum power under standard conditions, visual, electroluminescence, wet leakage current, Potential Induced Degradation, Light Induced Degradation and Light and Elevated Temperature Induced Degradation tests.

In words of Dr. Vicente Parra, Head of Quality and Technology at Enertis Applus+: "The flourishing solar PV industry in Australia finds us honoured to contribute our global expertise and technical knowledge in quality control to ACCIONA Energia's Aldoga plant. This latest endeavour underscores our long-term and fruitful partnership over the years, ensuring that ACCIONA Energia's solar PV projects in Australia, Europe, the Americas and other territories worldwide comply with exemplary quality standards for sustained performance excellence."

This new collaboration is an example of the growing activity of Enertis Applus+ in Australia, a market where the company has a track record of 4 GW of solar PV projects and 500 MWh of battery energy storage systems (BESS), providing independent solar engineering, solar consulting, specialised testing, and quality control services.
