Applus+ wins a significant project for pipeline inspection in Uganda

05/09/2023

Our teams in Nigeria and The Netherlands have jointly secured a substantial pipeline inspection for the Tilenga project, which is based in Uganda. This project involves developing and constructing 31 wells and 170 km of pipeline.

We provide non-destructive testing services for gas field pipelines, including radiography, ultrasonic testing, and magnetic surveys. These techniques enable us to detect cracks, corrosion, and other defects, ensuring the pipelines' integrity. By addressing issues early on, we enhance safety, minimise downtime, and optimise operations for the entire project.

The project's preparation began in January of this year and is set to continue until 2027. To meet the demands of this extensive undertaking, several teams will work continuously in parallel to examine 55,000 welds.

Our Middle East-Africa and Northern Europe teams showcase our global expertise and collaborative abilities, securing this significant contract through effective teamwork.
