Applus+ in Brazil Receives the “Innovative Workplaces Brazil” Seal Awarded by MIT Technology Review Brazil

12/11/2025

We are pleased to share that Applus+ in Brazil has been recognized with the Innovative Workplaces Brazil 2025 seal, awarded by MIT Technology Review Brazil — a publication affiliated with the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), with more than 120 years of history — following an evaluation process involving over 2,000 companies across various sectors.

This is the second time in three years that we have received this recognition, demonstrating our ongoing commitment to technology and innovation as key drivers of competitiveness and organizational transformation.

The evaluation considered criteria such as innovation culture, capacity for exploration and experimentation, application of artificial intelligence and automation, innovation in products and processes, as well as results related to ESG and financial performance.

The process consisted of three stages: first, we participated in a quantitative analysis of Applus+ Brazil’s innovation initiatives, reporting the number, maturity level, and impact of each one. In the second phase, key local managers completed technical and strategic questionnaires on investment, innovation, digital transformation, and the use of artificial intelligence. Finally, in the third stage, we presented representative business cases that reflect the technological and cultural diversity of our innovation strategy.

A global innovation approach to optimize connectivity, planning, and traceability

The initiatives presented in the Business Case phase were as follows:

    • Conecta+ – integration of three digital solutions for inspection data management and automation (Carcará, Ruta Óptima, and TOI) that optimize connectivity, planning, and standardization within the Electrical Division, generating efficiency, traceability, and greater responsiveness. Carcará is a solution based on low-orbit (LEO) satellite technology that ensures full field connectivity, even in remote regions with limited coverage, enabling continuous transmission of data, photographic evidence, and technical reports in real time Ruta Óptima uses a dynamic, intelligent route planning model that, through optimization algorithms, determines the best sequence of visits considering priority, distance, service window, and operational constraints. This reduces kilometers traveled, downtime, and logistics costs. TOI (Irregular Incident Report) standardizes the execution and technical recording of activities, replacing manual processes and inconsistent forms with digital checklists and automated workflows, ensuring that all teams follow the same quality, safety, and documentation protocols.

    • Solar Mobile Laboratory – a mobile solar module testing unit, adapted to the Brazilian context, that allows advanced on-site testing (power, IR thermography, and electroluminescence).

    • Project Tamanduá – a semi-mechanized offshore tank cleaning system (Anteater), currently in the patent process, which combines a new compact pumping system with mechanized workflow operations, reducing execution time by 15–20% and the need for onboard personnel, significantly improving operational safety.

    Commitment to digitalization and sustainability

These initiatives were not awarded individually but were part of the collective evidence supporting Applus+ Brazil’s overall candidacy, evaluated in its entirety within the Innovative Workplaces 2025 process.

We maintain an integrated strategy of digitalization, industrial innovation, and sustainability, aligned with Applus+ global values and aimed at generating tangible value for our clients, employees, and society.
