To address this need, Applus+ is executing projects involving the acquisition and installation of environmental monitoring stations equipped with advanced technology to measure pollutant gases such as SO2, NOx, particulate matter like PM10 and PM2.5, and meteorological variables such as pressure, precipitation, wind speed and direction, temperature, humidity, and solar radiation. These stations allow continuous measurement of pollutant levels and detection of concentrations that exceed Environmental Quality Standards (ECA), providing real-time data for more efficient oversight.
In addition to supplying and installing the stations, these efforts include infrastructure adjustments such as installing access ladders, ground leveling, civil modifications, installing metal fences, building shelters and structures for sensor placement, grounding and lightning protection installations, and improvements to electrical connections to ensure equipment operability.
The stations feature high-precision sensors that enable real-time measurement and data transmission. This technology not only enhances data collection but also optimizes response capacity to pollution events. Testing protocols are also implemented to ensure the quality and reliability of the information obtained.
With these projects, the stations enable more precise and continuous monitoring, facilitating the identification of pollution sources and preventive decision-making. This strengthens a proactive approach to environmental management, allowing faster and more effective responses to potential alerts.
