We welcome Richard Bartlett as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Applus+. His arrival marks a new chapter for the company, with a clear focus on performance, growth and value.
Richard brings extensive leadership experience from bp, where he led global businesses in EV charging, mobility and convenience and petrochemicals. He is known for his people-first, hands-on leadership style and his ability to deliver results with purpose.
As CEO of Applus+, Richard highlights Safety as the top priority and calls for a shared commitment to protect people through operating discipline and a speak-up culture. He will also focus on: Customers, strengthening trust and partnership through technical knowledge, local presence and customized solutions; Operational Excellence, optimizing costs, improving daily performance, allocating capital wisely, scaling through acquisitions and investing in our capabilities—always with safety, quality and integrity; and Growth that combines both ambition and purpose, creating value for our customers, shareholders, people and society.
Originally from the UK and fluent in Spanish, Richard has relocated to Spain with his wife. “I’m thrilled to be joining a winning business with extraordinary potential,” he said. “I’m here to support our teams to grow Applus+ into a major player in the Testing, Inspection & Certification sector (TIC)”.
Richard takes over from Joan Amigó, who now becomes Senior Advisor to the Board after ensuring a smooth leadership transition.
