Applus+ wins pioneering road-surface auscultation contract in Panama

11/02/2019

Approximately 50 km of roads are to be inspected under this contract, representing more than half of Panama’s toll roads

Applus+ has been awarded a road-surface auscultation contract by Maxipista de Panamá. The aim of this project is to measure structural and functional variables with a view to improving road management through more effective planning and timely intervention.

The project scope includes assessing structural and functional variables using high-performance auscultation equipment, visually inspecting the roads, assessing the state of the road surface and providing recommendations for efficient road management.

With this project, Maxipista de Panamá becomes the first operator to collect measurements and other data for use in road management.

We will take the opportunity of having Applus+ equipment on the ground in Panama to demonstrate our company’s capabilities and potential for further collaboration to the country’s Ministry of Public Works and Civil Aviation Authority.

The work being carried out by Applus+ in Panamá is made possible thanks to the team’s close collaboration with the road-surface auscultation team at the Energy & Industry Division in Spain. This once again demonstrates the Group’s ability to draw on multidisciplinary, international teams.
