Applus+ incorporates new technological equipment for testing and diagnosing power cables

Madrid, 23rd July 2026 – Applus+ continues to expand its capabilities for the testing and diagnosis of medium and high voltage underground cables with the addition of two new technologies that strengthen its service offering for the electricity sector. The company has acquired a resonant test system for IEC testing and diagnosis of high voltage cables from manufacturer HIGHVOLT, one of the reference technologies for this type of testing. It has also incorporated the Megger DAC300 system, one of the most advanced technologies on the market for testing power cables up to 132kV in Spain.

The addition of this HIGHVOLT resonant test system significantly strengthens the technical capability of Applus+ electrical testing laboratory, positioning it as one of the few companies in the sector in Spain capable of carrying out this type of testing on cables of up to 400 kV, and constitutes one of the most advanced solutions on the market. 

For its part, the Megger DAC300 system is a power cable testing technology that Applus+ already uses in lower voltage installations across various projects. From now on, the company owns this technology outright, allowing it to offer greater availability and a faster response to clients.

The combination of both systems gives Applus+ a particularly comprehensive technological offering for the testing and diagnosis of medium and high voltage cables, making it possible to select the most suitable solution for each project based on the characteristics of the installation and the customer's technical requirements.
