Applus+ awarded first contract in Cyprus and enhances the leadership in the Mediterranean region

    Applus+ has been awarded the LDAR monitoring of the fugitive emissions from the tanks of an industrial complex at a large energy multinational in Cyprus. The contract award opens a route to the Cypriot market for Applus+, and further strengthens its position in the Mediterranean region.

    The tank storage park holds many kinds of compounds of crude oil, petrol, fuel, diesel and naphtha, and in the future, the facility is expected to  be able to store new, alternative energy solutions such as LPG, LNG and biofuels.

    The monitoring service will be delivered with a range of specialised equipment to carry out LDAR programmes for leak detection and repair. In addition, Applus+ technicians will deploy thermal cameras with lenses dedicated specifically to surveying emissions, equipped with a digital film-recording device.

    On completion of the monitoring, Applus+ will provide the client with a detailed final report of each tank´s monitoring, including the dates of the activities, the tanks  adaptation to the weather conditions, the points where an emission has been identified and the videos related to any storage  leaks.

    Applus+ in Italy will coordinate the project, which will take place in June 2021.
