The Group is already part of the three sustainability indices created by Bolsas y Mercados Españoles (the operator of the Spanish stock exchanges and financial markets), as we are also included among the companies that make up the IBEX Gender Equality and the FTSE4Good IBEX indices.
Applus+ has been included in the new IBEX ESG index, created by BME (Bolsas y Mercados Españoles) to promote sustainable investments, specifically addressing commitments to environmental, social, and governance indicators.
This new index adds to BME's family of sustainable indices, which includes the FTSE4Good IBEX based on socially responsible criteria, and IBEX Gender Equality, measuring the presence of women in corporate leadership positions. Applus+ takes pride in being part of all three, aligning with our commitment to achieve a better, more equal, and sustainable society.
The 47 listed companies included in the new ESG index must be part of the IBEX 35 or IBEX Medium Cap, and are assessed by the independent Swiss provider Inrate. Additionally, they must adhere to the principles of the United Nations Global Compact and meet exclusion criteria related to business activities critical to sustainability.
The goal of this new index is to drive the transition towards a more sustainable economy among listed companies and highlight those that, besides offering attractive financial prospects, are committed to ESG values, which might be more appealing to investors concerned about sustainability.
In our Awards and Recognitions webpage, under the ESG category, you can explore all of Applus+' recognitions in this field, including our inclusion in the three IBEX indices dedicated to sustainability.
