With the entry into force of Decree Law 2/2025, after ten years of operation, all tourist establishments in the Canary Islands are required to demonstrate that their facilities are in good condition, are being used effectively for tourism purposes, and comply with current urban planning and tourism regulations by periodically submitting an Informe Técnico Turístico (ITT) (Technical Tourism Report).
Applus+ is registered with the Regional Ministry of Tourism for the issuing of these reports, and we offer establishments our technicians' expertise in inspection and certification in carrying out the inspections required under this new law. This is a legal obligation aimed at guaranteeing safety, a proper state of repair, and good quality accommodation throughout the archipelago. With a presence on all the islands, our teams conduct the ITTs with the utmost rigour and professionalism, giving tourism operators peace of mind and the certainty that they are indeed compliant with regulations, and are maintaining their facilities in optimum condition. From the moment this law came into force, we've been developing ITT projects with hotel chains and some of our key clients, for whom we are a trusted partner in the islands.
The regulations stipulate that the first ITT needs to be submitted ten years after the establishment first opened, and needs to include an evaluation of safety, state of repair, and image. After fifteen years, the scope of the review is broadened, to also cover aspects such as structural integrity, waterproofing and consolidation, and from then on certification must be renewed every five years.
Applus+ brings extensive experience in infrastructure inspection, supervision and quality control to this project, backed up by decades of work in the construction and building maintenance sector. Our track record makes Applus+ a trusted partner for the development of tourism initiatives that require the highest technical and quality standards.
If your establishment is required to submit a Technical Tourism Report, at Applus+ we'll provide you with advice and support throughout the process, delivering a high-quality, reliable service tailored to each individual client's needs.
