Applus+ in Italy will provide vendor surveillance activities for an Italian manufacturer in a FPSO project in Guyana

Starting on the third quarter of 2023, Applus+ will extend its support to an Italian leading company involved in a big Floating Production, Storage, and Offloading (FPSO) project in Guyana. This collaboration builds upon the existing worldwide vendor surveillance contract that the company maintains with Applus+ in Italy since the establishment of a master agreement in 2021.

Applus+ will provide a range of quality assurance services to a leading Italian manufacturer of alternative compressors, gas turbines, centrifugal compressors, etc., all vital components for handling hydrocarbons and gases.

The FPSO will have a topside designed to produce approximately 250,000 barrels of oil per day. It will also have the capacity to treat 540 million cubic feet of associated gas per day, inject  350,000 barrels per day and handle 300,000 barrels of produced water daily.

The vendor inspection services offered by Applus+ provide a guarantee to customers that the equipment they purchase adheres to the correct specifications and minimizes the financial impact associated with defective equipment.

Applus+ will ensure the highest level of service for the client by enlisting specialists in mechanical, piping, and welding inspection, as well as NDT and coating inspection, along with experienced lead coating inspectors.

Upon the client´s request, inspections will be carried out remotely, enabling an inspector to oversee a "live" inspection even when not physically present at the supplier's workshop.

Vendor inspection, a core business line for Applus+, provides an early detection mechanism for quality issues, effectively reducing the potential for delays and costs overruns arising from substandard work or incorrect specifications. The success of this service is due to the extensive experience of Applus+ professional technicians.
