Applus+ in Norway has successfully completed its inspection and verification scope for the Troll Stage 3 – Phase 2 (TP3 II) pipelay project, supporting Equinor in the delivery of one of the Norwegian Continental Shelf's most significant offshore gas developments.
Located approximately 80 kilometres northwest of Bergen in the North Sea, the Troll field is one of Norway's largest energy assets and a key contributor to Europe's long-term natural gas supply. The Troll Stage 3 development is designed to extend the field's operational life and increase gas recovery from the Troll West gas cap through new subsea tie-backs to the Troll A platform.
As part of this strategic offshore project, Applus+ provided a comprehensive range of inspection and verification services throughout both the fabrication and offshore installation phases, helping to ensure the integrity, quality and compliance of critical subsea infrastructure.
The scope of work included:
All activities were performed in accordance with DNV-ST-F101, Equinor's technical requirements and project-specific Inspection and Test Plans, maintaining a strong focus on quality assurance, safety and operational excellence throughout the project.
The offshore campaign was delivered by Applus+ specialists working in rotating shifts, providing continuous support during installation activities and contributing to the safe and successful execution of the project.
This milestone further reinforces Applus+ expertise in delivering inspection, non-destructive testing and quality assurance services for complex offshore oil and gas developments, supporting operators and contractors in the safe delivery of critical energy infrastructure.
Applus+ thanks Equinor for its continued trust, as well as Allseas and all project partners for their collaboration throughout the project, and recognises the commitment and professionalism of the offshore team whose work contributed to the successful completion of the installation campaign.
