Applus+ captures 3D images in electrical substations

12/05/2023

The aim of this project is to capture, through 360º cameras, images of the interior spaces of substations, including elements such as control rooms, relay boxes, racks, cabinets, boxes, cable labels, inscriptions on equipment, nameplate engravings, and the number of elements.

With the information obtained through this image capture technology by 3D Laser Scanning, it is possible to obtain the real situation of the installation in a digitalised form and analyse it through agile and interactive navigation, facilitating the identification of each detail, as well as previous engineering and consulting work.

In addition, it avoids the need to travel to the site to carry out stakeouts or other verifications and increases the information available that is currently not included in any documentation.

Applus+ has both lightweight and robust capture equipment that is easy to handle and transport and can be adapted to different interior spaces. We also have a technical team with extensive experience in carrying out 360º photographic capture work and a team of specialists in audiovisual editing and high-resolution image processing who will carry out a complete review of the shots taken in the field, the labelling of elements and the generation of those deliverables required by the client.

Our company has several years of experience in digitisation projects of our clients' assets, applying different technologies such as 360º image capture, oblique and overhead images, or Lidar data capture and processing.
