On May 16, the prestigious XIV Clodoaldo Jiménez Awards and the General Council of Industrial Relations and Labour Sciences prizes were presented at the Pedro Almodóvar Auditorium in Puertollano, in celebration of World Day for Safety and Health at Work. 

Natalia Mejía, Head of Projects in our Mechanical Department in Puertollano, accepted the award on behalf of the entire Applus+ team. Her words of gratitude highlighted the day-to-day commitment of every colleague who upholds the highest standards of health, safety and operational excellence.

Applus+ Technical Services LLC has been recognized by ADNOC Offshore for its health, safety and environmental (HSE) performance during the in-line inspection of unpiggable pipelines at Upper Zakum, Lower Zakum and Umm Shaif fields.

Twelve team members received Certificates of Appreciation for their contributions to project execution and HSE compliance, completing over 90,000 hours with zero Lost Time Incidents (LTI) in 2024.

Applus+ in Qatar has been honoured by Oryx GTL, one of Qatar’s leading sustainable energy companies, for its commitment to occupational health and safety. In a recent ceremony, our team led by Mr. U.N. Mallya (Senior Manager of QA/QC Services), Mr. Nayeem Abdul Hameed (Manager - Projects) and Mr. George Sakellariou (Rope Access & Rescue Manager), received a trophy in recognition of these efforts.

Our contribution to Oryx GTL’s success involved supplying key technical personnel, including Health & Safety Leads, Safety Specialists and Emergency Rescue Technicians. Over two major shutdowns, we mobilised over 200 skilled staff on each occasion, supporting our client’s goals with precision and care.

On March 15th, Applus+ was honored with the 15th Safety Award by @Repsol’s Puertollano Industrial Complex. This prestigious award is given annually to the contractor with the best safety performance, highlighting our commitment to risk prevention and safety.

This recognition is especially significant as it marks the fourth safety-related award Applus+ has received in the past two decades, including three from Repsol and one from the Association of Chemists of Castilla-La Mancha.

Applus+ in Singapore won the Platinum award at the HSSE Forum 2024, organised by Malaysia Deepwater Production Contractors Sdn. Bhd. (MDPC) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Applus+ was the only foreign company nominated.

Tang Johan, General Manager for Applus+ in Singapore, expressed pride in this recognition, highlighting our commitment to safety, security and environmental stewardship. This award underscores our ongoing efforts to exceed HSSE standards in all operations.

Applus+ has received a recognition as the safest company by Navantia, the Spanish state-owned company for the design and construction of vessels.

The award ceremony took place at Navantia’s facilities in the Port of Cartagena, and Applus+ was recognized for our commitment to health and safety and risk prevention. In a sector such as the naval sector, where safety is an absolute priority, being recognised in this area is a sign of the outstanding daily work of our employees.

The National Safety Council (NSC) has recognised Applus+ in North America for its programmes covering workplace safety and occupational health and its continuous improvements in this area.

The NSC has been North America's leading non-profit safety advocate for over 100 years, with a focus on eliminating the leading causes of preventable injuries and fatalities in the workplace, on roadways and in heavily degenerated areas.  

The recognitions Applus+ has received from the NSC include: the Significant Improvement Award, the Occupational Excellence Award, the Million Work Hour Award, and the Perfect Record Award.

Scope of recognition: North America

Applus+, through its Energy & Industry Division in the UK, has received a prestigious award by the RoSPA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents) in recognition of its practices and achievements in helping its employees, customers, clients and contractors to get home safely at the end of the working day.

Applus+ received the RoSPA Order of Distinction Award for 24 years of consecutive Gold Awards. This prestigious award is presented to organisations that sustain the highest standards of health and safety management and innovation over consecutive years.

The award recognises the continued success of Applus+ in terms of safety, as well as a range of new safety initiatives delivered.

Scope of recognition: UK

Applus+ Velosi in Qatar received an award of recognition for being a key supplier to the Qatar Fuel Additives Company (QAFAC). QAFAC held an event to recognise their management teams and key suppliers as the company completed 15 million safe working hours, a significant achievement.

During the event, the organism acknowledged key suppliers and personnel for their ongoing support. Applus+ Velosi in Qatar was invited to exhibit at the event.
