Outstanding projects by Applus+ for the electricity sector in Latin America

In 2021, the Applus+ teams in Latin America successfully executed and delivered different projects for companies in the electric power sector. Our technical teams provided inspection services on electrical installations, project management and preventive maintenance, among others. Here are some highlights of the noteworthy projects.

In Brazil, Applus+ carried out site inspections for a major electricity distribution company. The project included inspection and standardisation services on distribution networks for overhead or underground low-voltage electrical power in different geographical areas of the distributor's concession area.

Applus+ also provided technical services for the development of low- and medium-voltage projects in Chile for a major power-distribution client. These projects included the upgrade of networks, the relocation of overhead and underground networks, and basic and detailed engineering services for network extensions and upgrades.

In Colombia, Applus+ participated in the review, standardisation and detection of anomalies in special-metering electrical installations at low- and medium-voltage, and provided specialised personnel services for a major electricity distributor in the country.

Applus+ was also responsible for the preventive and corrective maintenance of 188 high-voltage substations at voltage levels of 110 kV, 66 kV, 34.5 kV and 13.8 kV, with scheduled maintenance, new assemblies, adaptations, electrical studies and other emergency activities arising, covering protection, remote control, operation and electromechanical maintenance.

With over 20 years of presence in Latin America and as a leader in the inspection, testing and certification sector, Applus+ continues to contribute to the development of the electrical sector in Latin American countries, providing solutions tailored to the requirements and regulations of each country.
