Applus+ RTD Provides NDT Services for an Ongoing New Construction Project in the Gulf of Mexico

    Applus+ RTD is providing NDT inspection services on the second stage of development of the Mad Dog offshore field. Phase two of the development plan is the largest major infrastructure expansion currently taking place in the Deepwater Gulf of Mexico.

    In addition to Carbon Steel inspections, this project requires Corrosion-resistant alloy (CRA) inspections to be performed on the new construction girth welds for the pipelines. In order to facilitate these inspections, Applus+ RTD is using our Rotoscan AUT (automated ultrasonic testing) system to inspect new welds during pipeline fabrication. Construction on the project has been ongoing since October of 2019 with offshore installation scheduled to be completed later this year.
