Applus+ with the social and professional inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities in Spain

08/07/2019

The Sin Límites (Without Limits) project is a continuation of the initial Son Capaces (They are Able) project. It was rolled out in Galicia in 2001 and has continued to grow and evolve. It has now been implemented in all of the Group’s divisions in Spain.

The objective of this project is to ensure the inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities in the labour market. 43 people with intellectual disabilities are already taking part in this project. We decided to support the inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities because, at a time when technological change is bringing greater automation and digitalisation, they can struggle with employability. By taking these actions, we can reduce the risk of social exclusion.

The project supports the inclusion of people with different abilities, offering them a future and ensuring that they are fully accepted by a sensitised workforce.

To take our project forward and continue to expand it, we have formalised strong partnerships with the Prodis Foundation, the Downs Syndrome Foundation, the Aura Foundation, Fademga, Asindown, the Aspanri Foundation and the Once Foundation, so that we can take on board their needs and make them our needs.
