18/05/2023

Three mentors from Applus+ participated in the X Talent Challenge run by the ONCE Foundation, which is an entrepreneurship competition for young people that seeks to promote the development of socially impactful projects as well as promote 21st century skills, such as digital literacy, leadership, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, creativity, decision-making, teamwork, etc.

Villanueva University hosted the second phase of the competition: “My life with disability, the story we tell.” Applus+ participated with a team that was composed of students in the Transition to Adult Life course (PTVA) at Alenta’s School for Special Education as well as two first-year journalism students from Villanueva University.

In the competition, the team members had to come up with personalised stories based on the activities they do both in the workshops and outside of school, and then sell them to the public. The aim of this project is to promote diversity and increase the visibility of the kinds of activities that students with intellectual disabilities and high educational support needs can do.

Alenta’s mission is to further the development of people with disabilities so that they can increase their autonomy and live full lives. For this reason, there were also activities carried out during the day that aimed to improve the personal and social skills of the team members in an enriching and motivating experience for everyone.
