At Applus+, we deliver internationally recognised IRATA Rope Access Training designed to equip technicians with the skills, safety protocols, and certification required for working at height in industrial and high-risk environments.

As a fully accredited IRATA training provider, we offer all three levels of rope access certification:

  • Level 2 – Experienced operators with advanced rigging and rescue skills
  • Level 3 – Supervisors responsible for managing rope access operations

Our courses are delivered by qualified IRATA Level 3 Instructors with extensive field experience across the oil and gas, energy, infrastructure, and renewables sectors. We prioritise practical, scenario-based training to ensure every participant is job-ready and safety-compliant.

  • IRATA Level 2 – Advanced rope manoeuvres, rigging systems, rescues, and hauling methods. Requires logged hours and previous Level 1 certification.
  • IRATA Level 3 – Supervisor-level training covering team management, rescue planning, risk assessment, and complex rigging systems. Focused on safety oversight and operational leadership.

Each course includes 4 days of training and 1 day of formal assessment by an independent IRATA assessor.

Specialised Training: Skylotec ACX/ICX Power Ascender

In addition to our core IRATA programs, Applus+ offers advanced training in the use of Skylotec ACX and ICX battery-powered ascenders. This course is ideal for rope access technicians, rescue personnel, and high-angle teams working in environments where powered ascent systems enhance operational efficiency and safety.

Participants will gain hands-on experience operating Skylotec’s ACX/ICX units, including:

  • Pre-use inspection and functional checks
  • Rigging configurations and load management
  • Battery care, system limitations, and troubleshooting
  • Rescue integration and emergency procedures

This training aligns with manufacturer guidelines and complements IRATA principles, helping teams reduce fatigue, improve productivity, and elevate safety performance in complex access scenarios such as wind turbines, offshore structures, and confined industrial assets.
