Safety Beyond the Workplace: Supporting Goal Zero for Gladstone 2026

This year, Applus+ is proud to once again support Shell QGC’s Goal Zero for Gladstone 2026 initiative alongside fellow industry partners, demonstrating how positive safety performance can be transformed into positive community outcomes.
 
Turning Safety Performance into Community Impact

The Goal Zero for Gladstone initiative connects the day-to-day commitment to safe operations during major scheduled maintenance work, with a broader purpose. Through the initiative, funds generated by achieving daily safety targets contribute towards community safety programs and services.

In 2026, all funds will go directly to the development of the new Patient Transfer Facility, based at the Gladstone Airport.

The facility will provide a dedicated space for aeromedical patient transfers through the airport, supporting the more than 900+ patient transfers that take place each year.
For patients, who need to travel by air to access medical care, the transfer process can occur at an already difficult and stressful time. The new facility will help provide greater comfort, privacy and dignity for patients while also offering a more appropriate environment for families, carers and the emergency service personnel supporting them.

Every day completed safely contributes not only to protecting the people involved in the work scope, but also towards community safety, continuing to support the Gladstone region long after works are complete.
