Access shouldn’t be the barrier to maintaining critical assets.
With more than two decades of experience and as one of IRATA’s founding members, Applus+ delivers safe, efficient and innovative rope access solutions for complex inspection and maintenance activities.
Our Training and Application Centre develops highly skilled technicians and advances best-practice rope access techniques, supporting the highest standards of safety, competency and operational performance. Our equipment and methodologies comply with IRATA TACS and relevant international standards.
Our capabilities extend beyond traditional rope access. Applus+ operates the only onsite training centre in Western Australia using the Skylotec ACX/ICX Power Ascender with specialised ACX and ICX Power Ascender training delivered from our Bibra Lake facility.
Unlike conventional rope access ascent, where technicians physically ascend the rope, Power Ascender technology uses a motorised system to transport the technician along the rope at speeds of up to 24 metres per minute.
This can significantly reduce the physical effort required for long or repeated ascents and improve access and repositioning efficiency across large or complex industrial assets.
“We can get technicians to difficult inspection locations faster and with considerably less physical effort, leaving more of their time and energy for the inspection itself.” Chris Davies, Applus+ Rope Access and Training Manager.
Combined with our rope access radiography, NDT and specialist inspection capabilities, this gives clients an integrated approach to accessing and inspecting difficult-to-reach assets.
For our clients, this can mean:
From routine inspections and maintenance to shutdowns and complex asset integrity challenges, Applus+ combines specialist access, technical expertise and advanced technology to help clients reduce downtime and maintain critical assets with confidence.
