Applus+ in Australia completed IRATA audit

19/04/2022

Applus+ successfully completed a third-party audit in March 2022 for compliance with IRATA's (Industrial Rope Access Trade Association) Membership Requirements.

IRATA is the pinnacle Rope Access association in the world, and Applus+ has adopted IRATA worldwide to ensure that our employees receive the best safety and training.

Chris Davies, Rope Access Manager & Technical Authority of Applus+, comments, "while maintaining our operating presence across five states and territories in Australia, it was a fantastic opportunity to review and revise our rope access management systems and procedures to ensure alignment with the new IRATA membership requirements. I am pleased to see that the same high-quality standards were found by the auditor when the site audit was conducted in Geelong. As a result, we can prove that not only are our employees following our procedures, but we also have great plans in place to manage our high-risk activities. It was the first time in several years that no Opportunities for Improvement were required, nor were any Non-Conformances recorded. I am proud of the effort from everyone."

Applus+ is an IRATA member company and operates more than 30 courses each year at our facility in Perth. Applus+ has more than 120 rope access personnel currently in the field. Applus+ utilise rope access training to undertake inspection and maintenance activities in the mining, infrastructure, and energy sectors.
