Supporting local employment through collaboration with INPEX

10/10/2019

It is more than 10 years since Applus+ opened its Darwin branch office at East Arm in Australia, employing local technical and administrative personnel. Since its opening, Applus+ has employed 15 Darwin-based staff, who primarily work on the Applus+ contract with INPEX, Japan’s largest oil exploration and production company. INPEX is currently leading the large-scale Ichthys Project in Australia.

Applus+ has long been involved with INPEX in Darwin, from the inspection of assets during the original construction, through commissioning and into the operational phase. With Ichthys LNG now operational, INPEX and Applus+ plan to increase the residential workforce to fulfil the inspection and technical roles required. Applus+ is committed to supporting the project, cementing its long-term support for the Northern Territory and the local community in which it works. With the support of INPEX, Applus+ is offering current and potential new team members the opportunity to relocate to Darwin with their families to join the residential team.

Applus+ will continue to work to achieve a substantial residential presence. Together with INPEX, it will combine training and other initiatives to ensure that it can provide the inspection and technical staff needed to support operations at Ichthys LNG.

With strong and positive commitment from our existing staff and ongoing support from our client, Applus+ is confident of having an increasing presence in the Darwin community for many years to come.
