19/05/2021

Applus+ in Canada is providing Geotechnical Engineering and Consulting Services on a major transportation expansion endeavor serving Vancouver, British Columbia, and its surrounding municipalities.

The build is comprised of a 7.5 km extension of the subway and SkyTrain system, 5 km of which will be tunneled underground. Applus+’ experts will lend their expertise through geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring services to support the structural integrity of this infrastructure during construction process.

Applus+ will install different devices including extensometers, inclinometers, and piezometric stations. The geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring services provided by Applus+ will help our client to minimize risks both during the construction process and during the 'in service' life of their infrastructure.

Applus+ provides structural health monitoring and infrastructure inspection on private and public works, bringing over 30 years of experience in all areas of civil and construction engineering and inspection.

Once completed, this transportation expansion project will provide fast and convenient transportation to B.C.’s second largest job center and growing residential communities. Construction of the new line is set to begin in the fall of this year with an expected completion date in 2025.
