Applus+ in UAE delivers advanced intelligent pigging services for Bunduq Company Limited

The campaign employs Applus+’s proprietary DTI Trekscan free-swimming, bi-directional in-line inspection (ILI) technology, enabling high-resolution detection of corrosion, wall-thickness variations, dents, metal loss, and other anomalies. Compared to conventional ILI tools, DTI Trekscan offers key technical advantages in accessibility, negotiability, and propulsion, allowing it to navigate complex subsea pipeline geometries, including bends and varying configurations, with minimal operational disruption. Mechanical cleaning activities are carried out prior to inspection to ensure optimal pipeline conditions and enhance data accuracy.

The project is further supported by Applus+’s in-house equipment and resources, including mechanical cleaning pigs, generators, compressors. This integrated capability allows for flexible execution and adaptation to client requirements throughout the campaign.

With multiple campaigns successfully completed and additional phases ongoing, Applus+ continues to support Bunduq through advanced in-line inspection technologies and a fully integrated execution approach. The availability of local resources in the UAE enables responsive delivery of mechanical cleaning and ILI services, contributing to safe, reliable, and efficient subsea pipeline operations while supporting the client’s long-term asset integrity objectives.
