Applus+ in Qatar appointed to support Qatar Museums’ ESG and decarbonisation strategy

Applus+ in Qatar supported Qatar Museums in strengthening its sustainability framework and establishing a structured foundation for long-term carbon emissions management across its cultural assets and operations.

The engagement began with a structured review of existing sustainability policies, reporting practices, and data management approaches, building on established processes and identifying areas where greater consistency and alignment could support reporting and decision-making. This was complemented by working sessions with internal teams to understand operational contexts and governance arrangements.

Applus+ worked with Qatar Museums to define organisational and operational greenhouse gas (GHG) boundaries in line with recognised international standards. Energy and activity data from across sites were consolidated to establish a documented emissions baseline, providing a consistent reference point for future tracking and performance monitoring.

Based on this baseline, Applus+ supported the development of a phased decarbonisation roadmap, focused on practical reduction pathways aligned with operational requirements and investment planning. This was supported by targeted training and working sessions to help internal teams maintain the framework, update data, and integrate sustainability considerations into routine processes.

The project was delivered in phases, with review points to ensure alignment with institutional priorities and operational realities. The engagement supports Qatar Museums’ longer-term sustainability objectives and contributes to national priorities aligned with Qatar National Vision 2030.
