Applus+ in Canada successfully completes first shovel outage of 2024 in Fort McMurray

Last February, Applus+ in Canada announced the completion of our first shovel outage of 2024 at the oil sands in Fort McMurray. Leveraging extensive expertise in non-destructive testing (NDT) and mining equipment, Applus+ has successfully executed the repairs with precision and efficiency.

During this outage, Applus+ implemented innovative solutions to enhance inspection and repair processes, using tablets equipped with our proprietary fleet system, significantly streamlining operations by providing real-time crack mapping and inspection checklists to team members. This technology not only expedited the workflow but also ensured accuracy and thoroughness in assessments.

As the preferred vendor for repairing mine equipment in the oilsands, we understand the importance of meeting tight schedules and deadlines. Despite facing challenging conditions, including the harsh Canadian winter, our dedicated team went above and beyond to fulfil our commitments, working tirelessly shift after shift.

Our commitment to safety, as evidenced by our safety record and comprehensive Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) plans, enabled us to navigate the rigorous conditions effectively. Regardless of the season, we remain dedicated to delivering exceptional results while prioritizing the well-being of our team and the environment.
