The annual British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing Awards took place in Edinburgh last week. The BINDT Awards are a series of prestigious annual honours presented by the British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing (BINDT) to recognise outstanding contributions across non-destructive testing, condition monitoring, and structural health monitoring including lifetime achievement, innovation, practitioner excellence, and best-paper awards in areas such as Insight journal publications and conference proceedings.
The BINDT 2024-25 awards were a success for our UK team, with 3 of our colleagues taking home awards.
Evelyn Grogan, Head of HR received the Gail Long Award, the purpose of this award is to recognise women in any field of NDT/CM/SHM and associated science, engineering and technologies. It aims to raise the profile of women in engineering, and of NDT and its related disciplines and industries, with a contribution over a period of at least 2-5 years. Congratulations Evelyn, a true asset to our UK team.
Todd Parsons received the Aerospace Award, this award is to recognise a significant contribution over a period of at least 2-5 years to the NDT/CM/SHM community within the aerospace sector. Todd works endlessly putting all his effort into Aerospace globally and it is amazing to see his hard work be recognised! Congratulations Todd, thank you for all your hard work.
Last but certainly not least, Ben Welsh took home the Practitioner Award! This award is to recognise outstanding achievement in the learning, sharing or execution of NDT/CM/SHM practice. An excellent achievement for Ben, we look forward to seeing your career progress even further.
