Applus+ in Saudi Arabia supports third-party inspection for Rally Dakar 2026 temporary structures

Rally Dakar is a large-scale international motorsport event involving multiple venues and temporary facilities that must be erected, inspected, and commissioned within constrained timeframes. For the 2026 edition, Applus+ in Saudi Arabia carried out independent inspections at locations including AlUla, Riyadh, Yanbu, Hail, Bisha, Wadi Ad-Dawasir, and Henakiyah, in line with the approved scope.

Inspection activities were delivered over a three-week period, aligned with event readiness requirements and phased site handovers. The scope focused on arch tents installed across regions with varying ground conditions, environmental exposure, and site constraints. As these structures were intended for operational and public use, safety verification prior to occupancy was a key requirement.

Inspections assessed the safety, stability, and readiness of the structures in accordance with approved drawings, materials, and project specifications, based on accessible areas at the time of inspection.

Findings were documented in Third-Party Inspection Reports and communicated to the contractor. Where observations were identified, corrective actions were implemented and verified through re-inspection prior to use.
