Applus+ has been awarded a new contract with Saudi Arabia Rail Company (SAR) for bridge assessment and inspection services in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The project is for a duration of 4 months and involves the inspection and assessment of two bridges in Riyadh. Both the bridges have defects which will require the team at Applus+ to conduct a full assessment of the structures before commencing the work.

The new project will be managed by Santiago Penabella, managing director of Applus+ Arabia and project manager, Amjad Baseet. The laboratory tests will be carried out by Geotechnical and Environmental Company (GECO), our laboratory partner in the region and a company that was recently acquired by Applus+.

Amjad Baseet commented, “By taking on this project, Applus+ has renewed their commitment to the diversification of services in Saudi Arabia. Our aim is to be the market leader in the power and construction sector, as we continue to expand our reach and service offerings in the Kingdom. We are very happy to be working for SAR and we look forward to many more partnerships in the future.

The client chose Applus+ because of its high-quality service in the fields of engineering, inspection and consultancy.
