Applus+ in Saudi Arabia completes health and safety management program for JOSLOC

The engagement was designed to evaluate JOSLOC's existing health and safety arrangements and develop a structured management system that supports regulatory compliance, operational effectiveness and workplace safety.

Working closely with the JOSLOC team, Applus+ delivered the project through three complementary phases. The first involved a comprehensive assessment of the facility to identify operational gaps and areas requiring attention. This was followed by a review of existing arrangements against applicable local legislation and relevant international health and safety standards. Based on the findings, Applus+ developed practical plans and strategies to address identified gaps and support the ongoing development of the company's health and safety management system.

The assessment provided JOSLOC with a detailed understanding of its existing health and safety arrangements and formed the basis for a series of targeted deliverables. These included an HSE Gap Analysis Report, HSE Gap Analysis Matrix and Comprehensive Risk Analysis Matrix, which enabled identified issues and risks to be evaluated and prioritized.

Building on these findings, Applus+ developed a Corrective Action Execution and Implementation Plan to guide the systematic closure of identified gaps and provide a clear roadmap for future actions.

To support the long-term management of health and safety risks, the project also delivered five management plans covering safety, process safety, fleet safety, security and occupational health. Together, these plans provide a structured framework for managing key risks, defining responsibilities and supporting consistent health and safety practices across the facility.

Through this program, JOSLOC gained a practical roadmap for strengthening its health and safety management system, supported by risk-based recommendations, prioritized actions and management tools tailored to its operational environment.
