Prior to the use of RAZAR, Applus+ utilized Small Containment Area Radiography (SCAR) as the leading technology to perform a volumetric examination for small-diameter primary heat transport pipes. Our experts worked tirelessly to further innovate and adopt a new system to secure greater efficiency and consistency, better image quality, and extremely small radiation exclusion zones to allow other labour groups in the area to continue performing their work.
This project demanded rigorous planning, exceptionally trained NDE technicians, and above all, innovative technology to efficiently perform the work with a high degree of quality and radiation safety. The completion date for the scope is planned for the end of 2023.
