Applus+ GECO Conducted a Workshop for the Ministry of Environmental Health in Saudi Arabia

    Applus+ GECO recently conducted a workshop for the General Directorate of Environmental Health in Saudi Arabia as part of an ongoing project, “Establishment of the Environmental Protection Unit.”

    The event was held at the Madareem Crown Hotel in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia during the second week of November and brought together representatives from the Ministry of Health, Applus+ GECO and the Al Madar Group.

    The aim of the workshop was to raise awareness on environmental protection and the importance of adhering to environmental standards and regulations. The event focused on the management of medical waste and sanitation, and the process and requirements to achieve ISO certification. Dr. Ahmed Alhazmi, a representative of Applus+ GECO made a presentation and spoke about the concept, importance, and objectives of environmental protection units. He reiterated the importance of commitment from government agencies and the National Control Centre to protect the environment and abide by the environmental laws of the country.

    The Geotechnical and Environmental Company Limited (GECO) was acquired by Applus+ in 2021 as a way to diversify its service offerings to clients in Saudi Arabia.
