Applus+ authorized to conduct verification of conformity for SONCAP certification

Applus+ has been formally appointed as a Technical Partner under Intership Quality Solutions (IQS), an Independent Accredited Firm (IAF) operating within the SONCAP framework. Established by the Federal Government of Nigeria in 2005, SONCAP is designed to prevent the importation of unsafe and substandard products by ensuring that all regulated goods comply with the relevant Nigerian Industrial Standards (NIS) prior to entry into the Nigerian market.

As an approved Technical Partner, Applus+ will provide certification services for a wide range of regulated products, including:

• Chemical Products: Motorcycle tyres, bicycle tyres, paper products, soap and detergents, fertilizers, cement, and more.
• Textiles and Textile Products: Fabrics, garments, upholstery, rugs, and carpets.
• Footwear: Manufactured from leather, rubber, plastic, canvas, or their combinations.
• Toys and Childcare Products: Including dolls, puzzles, and model toys.
• Electrical and Electronic Products: Household appliances, photocopiers, computers, switches, and plugs.
• Mechanical Products: LPG accessories, automotive spare parts, hand tools, and fan belts.

Products such as food items, medicines, pharmaceuticals, medical consumables (other than equipment and machinery), raw material chemicals, military equipment, and used products (other than automobiles) are excluded from the SONCAP program.
