    Applus+ Kiefner awarded a large-scale contract to conduct technical investigations for a solar plant facility in the southwestern region of the United States.

    Since the inception of the project, our dedicated team of engineering solutions providers at Kiefner and non-destructive testing technicians has been executing a series of in-the-field investigations to analyze the condition of a solar facility experiencing a series of failures that has impacted operations. 

    The teams performed a series of assessments, including the execution of failure mechanism analysis, assisted in design reviews, and assisted in disassembling a failed heat exchanger. While on location, our Kiefner experts also evaluated the failure of a 1000 DEGF (degrees Fahrenheit) salt tank. The project is ongoing, as more investigations will be conducted to assess further the condition of the operator’s facilities and corresponding assets.
