03/12/2019

Applus+ exhibited at one of the largest energy exhibitions in Mozambique.

The 6th annual Mozambique Gas Summit was held on 13-14 November 2019. The Summit gave leading energy companies the opportunity to showcase their technologies and services to a wider audience, as well as promote services and solutions for liquefied natural gas (LNG).

We are excited to have had Niels Pörtzgen, Technical Authority at Applus+ RTD in the Netherlands, who joined us at this year's exhibition. He presented a workshop on the Applus+ RTD IWEX AUT system, which uses an ultrasonic inspection technique that improves the capability to identify flaws and determine if they are defective.

Matt Stead, Business Development Director for Applus+ Middle East & Africa, presented our LNG capabilities, highlighting our tank inspection services, Digital Radiograhic Testing (DRT) and Phased Array Automated Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT). Wilma Mondlane, Country Manager of Applus+ in Mozambique, presented our Mozambican success story, detailing the opportunities available in the industry and ways to overcome the existing challenges. Also attending the Summit this year were Guillermo Andrés Carmona, Executive Vice-President Operations for Applus+ in Middle East and Africa and Paulo Pereira, Country Manager of Applus+ in South Africa. The Applus+ exhibition booth was visited by the President of Mozambique, Filipe Jacinto Nyusi and the Mozambican Press. This exhibition allowed the Applus+ team to meet with stakeholders and establish new business contacts in the Mozambique pipeline market.

Applus+ looks forward to strengthening ties with Mozambique and the wider Southern African region.
