Applus+ in Indonesia successfully performed Remote Rig Inspection for Rig Tender Survey


    Applus+ performed Remote Rig Inspection to verify the Rig actual condition with the submitted tender documents. Rig Tender Survey shall be conducted as per Client’s request to verify Rig actual condition with submitted tender document.

    The Rig Owner is one of the bidders who submitted technical documents of the proposed Rig to the Client, and Applus+ in Indonesia on behalf of Client appointed to perform the inspection. The output of the service is we generate a report with several recommendation.

    The Remote Rig Inspection has been proposed by the team of Applus+ in Indonesia and agreed by the Client mainly to minimize people mobility during global Covid-19 pandemic situation. With the location of the Rig is in UAE, we conducted the inspection through a live stream to make sure there’s no post-bid or additional documents during the inspection. Since it is part of Client’s Bidding Technical Evaluation Procedure to all bidders, hence, this inspection objectives are to verify the actual condition of the rig, mandatory drilling equipment specification, overall IADC Equipment, as well to verify related certificates availability and validity. The remote inspection conducted on August 9, 2021 and completed 3 days later.

    Rig Inspector from Applus+ in Indonesia performed as the “Main Inspector” in Jakarta, Indonesia, and collaborate with the team from Applus+ in UAE to act as the “Eye” equipped with Remote Inspection Camera Device on the Rig location. Clients and several Rig Owner Representative were also joined the Remote Inspection live session.

    For this Remote Rig Inspection campaign, the challenge is on how to arrange an adequate internet connectivity on the Rig. The Remote Inspection Camera Device shall be connected to the internet, so that all involved personnel can clearly see the camera during the inspection in live streaming mode. A stable internet connectivity will ensure a fluidity the inspection performance in 2 (two) ways of communication between the “Main Inspector” and the “Eye” as well for all attendees.
