Global Resources and Local Expertise Support NDT on major gas-field fabrication contract in Batam

    Through the Energy & Industry Division in Indonesia, Applus+ involved in Tyra Future Development Project for one of the leading oil and gas companies in Batam, Indonesia. The project consists of approximately 15,000 Tons of two wellhead topsides and jacket top replacement, TEG (Tyra East G Platform) Jacket & Bridges for Offshore Denmark.

    Since the project started in August 2019, Applus+ in Indonesia has been working closely with the client in Indonesia to deliver NDT testing and quality inspection on the fabrication of six module support frames (MSF), which will raise the Tyra East Gas Platform located in the Danish North Sea to rectify a 5-meter subsidence into the seabed.

    For this project, Applus+ capabilities to develop and deploy the project and technology with a team of Personnel Certification in Non-Destructive Testing (EUI) and American Society for Non-Destructive Testing (USA) inspectors. This team is specializes in ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle testing, liquid penetration testing, X-ray and gamma radiographic testing. Initially, with a crew of ten, the project has rapidly grown to 50 NDT inspectors.

    Applus+ set up facilities for onsite radiographic processing to develop the imaging from the inspection of welds on structures, pressure vessel and piping. Quality is fundamental, and each month a QA inspector from Applus+ in Singapore arrives to certify our team's inspection methods and the quality of our inspection processes.

    Inspection equipment is standard NDT equipment comprising Manual U.T, X-Ray, and Gamma-Ray Radiography and manual penetrant and MT testing AC Yokes. Technicians are all qualified to L II PCN or SNT-TC-1A standards.

    During the month of November, our team for Tyra East Gas Platform Project reached 25,000 milestones LTI free man-hours.
