Applus+ recently delivered a 3D Laser Scanning service for a ring beam dimension check at a steelwork manufacturer in Indonesia. Our skilled team of Indonesian and Malaysian inspectors and operators collaborated on this project.
The process began with a comprehensive structure survey of the ring beam. We then employed a laser scanner to capture millions of precise points on its surface, creating a highly detailed 3D model. By comparing the dimensions from the 3D model with the design specifications, we identified any discrepancies, minimising the risk of errors and rework.
