Computerradiografie (CR) ist ein Verfahren ohne Film zur Erstellung digitaler, 2-dimensionaler Röntgenbilder. Mittels CR können mit derselben herkömmlichen radiografischen Durchstrahlungsausrüstung Bilder über einen Computer angezeigt werden.
Sie erübrigt chemische Verarbeitung, verwendet niedrigere Quellstärke, ermöglicht niedrigere Grenzwerte und liefert schneller Ergebnisse. Die Bilder sind schärfer und höher aufgelöst, sodass die Bewertung stärker ins Detail gehen kann.
Speicherung und Abrufen der Daten könnten nicht einfacher sein, und die Informationen können über das Internet gemeinsam genutzt werden.
