Applus+ is expanding its capability and reach in remote inspection and testing through a trial of live streaming inspection and test information from a remote site in Western Australia.
By utilising a range of technologies specifically designed for the Testing, Inspection and Certification sector and the harsh and hazardous area environments that we operate. With head-mounted cameras and live-streaming video hubs, we can stream the live perspective of an inspector and allow remote collaboration with our extensive global network of subject matter experts. This trial used the local LTE network for communication; however, this same technology can be used over very low bandwidth technologies such as the BGAN satellite network. The inspector and subject matter expert connect using a secure encrypted connection and share live images, videos, and drawings.
This service gives our clients unprecedented access to our extensive global network of experts and remote presence at their sites with our inspectors and technicians support if required. This technology also allows for the rapid deployment of subject matter experts to enable our clients to get their equipment back into operation sooner and give our clients the ability to see their equipment without needing to travel to the site themselves.
The Applus+ team has been utilising remote inspection services since 2018, continuing to improve the capability with the latest advances in technology, providing the next level of secure interaction. We provide remote guidance and support and allow our clients to attend third-party inspections all around the world.
