Applus+ has been awarded a two-year contract for the provision of non-destructive testing and inspection services at the bp Kwinana Energy Hub

    bp is currently advancing plans for a biorefinery at BP Kwinana Energy Hub. 

    In alignment with our steadfast commitment to promoting renewable energy projects and fostering sustainable practices, our team at Applus+ in Australia supports the project with Conventional and Advanced Non-Destructive Testing and Inspection Services. It is an exciting opportunity for us to demonstrate our capabilities and contribute to the success of the biorefinery project.

    A wide range of non-destructive testing and inspection techniques are implemented in biorefineries as part of our scope of work. These methodologies include, but are not limited to:

    • Ultrasonic thickness and weld testing,
    • Magnetic particle testing,
    • Penetrant testing,
    • Ultrasonic thickness testing of tanks,
    • Phased array analysis,
    • Computerized, digital, and close proximity radiography.

    Applus+ Pacific's Executive Vice President, Adam Alessandrino comments: "Applus+ have supported the Western Australian region since 1982. Applus+ is proud to join bp to as it transitions its former oil refinery in Kwinana to an energy hub, where it plans to repurpose some of the existing infrastructure for the production of biofuels.”
