Applus+ is pleased to announce its involvement with the Petroleum Club of Western Australia’s Next Generation Program for 2019.
The Next Generation Program is an educational initiative designed to introduce high school students to the Oil & Gas industry through engaging and interactive tutorial sessions.
Tarryn Scott, an Inspection Engineer with Applus+, will be representing the company as an industry mentor alongside Diederick Naude, the Australian Technology Centre Manager.
“It’s a privilege to be selected as a lead mentor for the Next Generation Program,” said Scott.
“I’m eager to share my passion for the Petroleum industry with the upcoming generation; there is an incredible amount of potential to be unlocked. I hope to inspire a new level of thinking, broaden their perspectives and encourage a greater interest in STEM subjects.”
Over the course of the school year, mentors will visit their allocated high school and present to students on topics including the importance and impact of energy in our society, phases of the project lifecycle and emerging career opportunities.
With 18 schools participating in the initiative this year, including three from regional Western Australia, the 2019 Next Generation Program is set to be the biggest year yet.
